Create your account and your organization
Opening an Echo account, and where to find your organization id.
Echo Support is run from a dashboard, at app.echo-group.ca. Two things get created there, one after the other: your personal account, then the organization your conversations, your team and your billing all hang from. The widget on your site only ever knows the organization.
1. Open the account
The sign-up screen (app.echo-group.ca/sign-up) offers "Continuer avec Google", or three fields to fill in: "Nom", "Adresse courriel", "Mot de passe". The button that submits reads "Continuer". These screens are served in French only for now.
What the password must contain
- Eight characters at least by default, 256 at most.
- At least three of the four character families: lowercase, uppercase, digit, symbol.
- Nothing that repeats whatever your email address writes before the @.
- None of the most common passwords: "password", "azerty123", "iloveyou" and a couple of dozen others are refused.
A strength meter appears under the field as you type. It informs you, but the four rules above are what decide: they are checked on the server, and the error message says which one failed.
If address verification is required, the form gives way to a "Vérifiez votre adresse" screen and an email goes out to the address you typed; the account opens when you click the link it contains.
2. Create the organization
Next comes the organization screen. As long as you have none, it shows a single "Nouvelle organisation" field and a "Créer l’organisation" button: put your company name in it. The step is not optional — for as long as no organization is active, every page of the dashboard sends you back to it.
You are the owner of the organization you create. That is the only role allowed to manage billing; the others are handed out from the Team screen once the organization is open.
3. Pick up the organization id
That id is what ties the widget on your site to your inbox. It is shown under Configuration → Integrations (app.echo-group.ca/support/integrations), labelled "Organization ID", with a "Copy" button. The same screen gives the organization’s inbound email address, and the install tag already filled in, in four flavours — HTML, React, Next.js, JavaScript.
The Integrations screen is reserved for the organization’s owner and administrators. Any other role sees an "Access Restricted" screen instead.
Free or paid
The free plan asks for nothing more: once the account exists, you are on it. Online payment is not open yet: to move to a paid plan, create your account first, then write to us at contact@echo-group.ca. The amounts are shown on the pricing page, in Canadian dollars, before tax.
